ARTHUR H. RENIER, JR. SCHOLARSHIP
- The Past Lt. Governor's Association
of the I-I District presents a scholarship to eligible Key Club
high school seniors who are entering in a two or four year college
or university, or, to eligible members of Circle K who are currently
enrolled in a graduate or undergrad program at an accredited
university or college in the Illinois-Eastern Iowa District in
honor of Past Governor Arthur H. Renier, Jr.

- Valued at $500 each, a scholarship
is provided to one active men of I-I Key Club and one active
member of I-I Circle K.

- Application forms are made available
each year on the I-I District Club and Circle K websites and
are also sent to advisors and officers of active Key Clubs and
Circle K Clubs in the I-I District.

- About Mr. Renier
Arthur H. Renier, Jr. was Distinguished Governor of the I-I District
in 1976-77, and he was a member of the Lake View Kiwanis Club.
He served as Lt. Governor for Division 1 in 1970-71 and was instrumental
in starting the Past Lt. Governors Association. He was District
Secretary in 1971-72 and 1972-73 and at his death had 34 years
of perfect attendance.When he died, money given in his memory
to the PLGA was used to start the this scholarship.

Recipient Eligibility
1. Applicant must be a member in good standing of a Key Club
or Circle K in the Illinois-Eastern Iowa District.
2. Applicant must show proof of membership in Key Club and/or
Circle K for two consecutive years prior to time of application.
3. Upon proof of acceptance into college or university the scholarship
money will be sent to the schools financial aid office.

Application Information
1. Details and instructions for applying for the Arthur H. Renier,
Jr. Scholarship Award are attached. It is important that all
forms be completed.
2. A Scholarship Committee appointed by the President of the
Past Lt. Governors Association shall select scholarship
winner(s).
3. The amount of the scholarship to be awarded is $500.00.
4. The application DEADLINE will be March 15 each year. Applications
must be postmarked by March 15 to be eligible for the scholarship.
Any applications and references postmarked after that date will
not be considered and will be returned with a letter of explanation.
For additional information, contact the President of the Past
Lt. Governors Association or the Scholarship Chairperson
through the Kiwanis District Office (address at end of application
information sheets).
5. Two letters of recommendation are required. At least one of
these letters must be from the current faculty or Kiwanis adviser
to the club.
6. Do not include a Transcript, as it is not required.
7. No application should be sent until all information is included.
Applications will not be considered unless they are complete.
